How to run AMS
To start AMS using IcedTea-web use your desktop shortcut.
You will need to have installed both AmazonCorretto8 and IcedTea-web
from the Software Center(if on an old device), or Company Portal(if on a new device) using these instructions
Once you have installed both AmazonCorretto8 and IcedTea-web you can create a desktop shortcut by following these steps

Installing Amazon Corretto and IcedTea
Both of these product can be installed from Software Center or Company Portal.
• Open either Software Center (if on an old device) or Company Portal(if on a new device) by typing in the Windows Taskbar search box and select the appropriate result.
• When the application opens, type java in the search box.
• You should then be able to see the two products that need to be installed.
• First double click on the Amazon Corretto 8 icon and then click on Install.
• Wait until the installation is complete.
• Repeat the steps above this time installing IcedTea-Web v1.8.
• Once both products have been installed you can the follow these instructions to create a desktop shortcut for running AMS.

Creating AMS desktop shortcut
• From the computer Desktop right click and choose New and then Shortcut.
• Then enter the location of the shortcut item.
For small screens enter text below: Click to copy text
For normal screens enter text below: Click to copy text
For large screens enter text below: Click to copy text
For a personalised/customised size enter text below: Click to copy text
Try changing the scale of '250' above to another number (eg. 200,275 etc) until you find the right size for your device/resolution.
Note for comparison, small scale is equivalent of 100, medium is 130, large is 180.
• Then press Next
• Enter a name for the shortcut eg. AMS Corretto
• Then press Finish
• You can now run AMS by opening this desktop shortcut.
• Click here for instructions for running AMS for the first time.

Running AMS the first time
When you have started AMS via your desktop shortcut you will be prompted with the following dialogs.
• Toggle on the Always trust content from this publisher checkbox and press the Run button.
• Then on the next dialog toggle on the Remember this option checkbox and press the Yes button.
The AMS system will then start.
If you have not already signed in to your DoE account then you will directed to the DoE login page and AMS will look like the image below until you have completed the login.
The DoE login page will be directed to a page which looks like below.
If the AMS system is not visible click on the item in your taskbar to take you to AMS.
Users of AMS Spatial (mapping) should be aware that the mapping window will open in a separate tab in your default browser.
If you accidentally close this tab you can create a new mapping tab in the browser by pressing the Reset button in the AMS Spatial form.
